Hello! And welcome to our site!
My passion since I was a child was to always work with dogs in as many disciplines as possible with different people. One can never stop learning from others both young or old.
A topic that I have always been intrigued by has been genetics. This is something that surrounds our world and determines whether a species will exist, survive and thrive in both its past and current existence as well as determine whether or not it will do the same in the future to a certain degree of reliability.
As keepers and guardians of these incredible working dogs we must always keep a clear conscience and thorough knowledge in regards to the breeding of our dogs.
Sometimes ruthless breeding is the only breeding.
Thoughts that I have always believed in is that we must always remember that the present is where the past and future meet.
This type of thinking is crucial to a clear well being and harmonious living.
For us dog folks this is where a deep knowledge of pedigrees as well as what is presented to us when combined will make the dog of the future.
Two things must happen in order to breed successfully in my opinion. Other than what most may think these two are paramount in my philosophy.........
1. We must always take into consideration the knowledge and foresight of our predecessors and trust in what they did in order for us to continue the path to continued success.
2. Clearly be able to asses and be forthright in these assessments of our own working stock as well as have a clear picture on what we are looking at to improve with absolutely no justifications for deficiencies within our stock.
The first may sound like an easier pill to swallow since the work has already been done and cannot be changed.
However the second is where most will fail and eventually realize their shortcomings and hopefully either change their ways or better yet stop breeding practices all together since they have committed a disservice to the make up of the dog.
Once we have established goals with purpose as well as a clear conscience in breeding we may now enter the realm of true testing.....now, the fun begins.
Thank you for reading......
